The Swirls of Pain by Sittidet Chaiyahat

Welcome to our web site!  Our book project: Our Great Adventures with KT is finished!

Our familly has struggled and persevered for 14 years through the incredible journey of Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome.  Our son Sittidet was born premature at 31 weeks in Bangkok, Thailand, where little was known about his life threatening condition.  We have coped with financial stress, surgeries, culture and language barriers, pain, the unknown, the ambiguity, the ignorance as well as the support from other people, the isolation, and the incredible spiritual journey.  We have struggled to support our child, two younger children, and ourselves as parents.  Sittidet's brothers, especially our middle son Solomon, have been deeply effected by having a sibling with such unique circumstances.

It is time to reach out, to share our journey, to be courageous enough to ask for love and support.  We can't do it alone, in fact we never have.  Please consider purchasing our book as a way to support our family emotionally, spiritually, and help out with our surmounting medical expenses.  We hope that by reading and looking at the art work in the book you can understand and identify with our journey.  We all have our struggles in life.

Sittidet's health care is crucial to his survival, and due to insurance restrictions and our fluctuating income he has at times had most of his care paid for and at times it has put our family in financial crisis.  The basics of his care  include multiple medications, therapies, doctor visits, nurse visits, ER visits, radiology, and 1-2 hospital stays a year.  At present Sittidet is really struggling with unbearable pain and depression.  We are doing our best to help him, but every appointment requires money, time, and energy.  We may be considering a very extreme type of surgery that could offer some relief if we cannot find other ways for him to cope.  We appreciate any support you can offer to Sittidet and our family.

About the book:  This book was made to bring hope and light into the dark places of our lives, to educate those around us about our experience, to cultivate a community of support for us, to honor those in our lives who have already made a difference, and to begin to create a future in which Sittidet can be as healthy as he can be.
